Julia Micalizzi, PNP-PC (often goes by the nickname Julie) earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Villanova University in 2003. After graduation, she began working as a pediatric staff nurse at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She completed a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education in 2006 from Jacksonville University. Shortly afterward, she moved to Denver, Colorado where she began specialty work in the Pulmonary Department at Children’s Hospital Colorado as the Asthma Clinic and Program Coordinator, focusing on high risk asthmatics and starting an asthma clinic for severe and high risk children as well as community asthma education programs for local health clinics. She also became certified as an asthma educator in 2007 and continues to remain active in asthma awareness and education efforts.
In 2010 she graduated from University of Colorado with a postgraduate certificate and became certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She transitioned to a role as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner within the Hospitalist Department at Children’s Hospital Colorado where she remained in that role until relocating to New England with her husband in 2012.
Julia joined Andover Pediatrics in early 2013 and continues to enjoy many aspects of primary care with special interests in asthma care and education as well as pulmonary disorders. She lives with her husband in Somerville, Massachusetts. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, skiing, running, quilting, gardening, and cheering for the New England Revolution soccer team!
